Who we are
Closter Hub operates ClosterHub.com, a local directory for businesses and organizations in Closter, New Jersey.

What we collect and why
When you browse the public site, we record pages you visit, a visitor cookie (ch_vid), a first-touch cookie (ch_ft), and, when a measurement id is set, Google Analytics page views.
If you subscribe to the newsletter, we collect your email and an optional name. Listmonk sends a confirmation email (double opt-in) before we add you to the list.
If you claim a listing or submit an organization, we collect your name, date of birth, email, owner phone, organization fields you provide, and the Terms of Service version you accepted.
Owner accounts use email and password through Supabase Auth, or Google sign-in (email and profile from Google).
Listing content you publish can include hours, photos, posts, specials, events, stories, and messages.
Owner messages are stored in the app. We may send an email copy. We keep opt-out records if you stop those emails.
For Promote checkout we send the product and business id to Stripe. Stripe holds card details. We may store checkout email and order metadata.
Photos and other files you upload go to Supabase storage.
For security we use rate limits, an admin session cookie, and a first-party image-grid captcha. We do not use a third-party captcha vendor.
Cookies and analytics
ch_vid identifies a visitor. ch_ft stores first-touch attribution for about 30 days.
A first-party collect beacon posts to /api/collect. It records site pageviews and signup_funnel_events. Listing visit and link_click events are stored separately. Those event rows do not include your email.
Google Analytics (GA4) runs when a measurement id is set. Admin and owner workshop paths skip GA.
Newsletter mail uses Listmonk. You opt in, confirm the email we send, and can unsubscribe from the link in each newsletter.
Transactional mail uses Postmark: claim approval, owner invite, and password reset.
Owner-message emails go through Postmark on the owner-messages stream. They include our postal address and an unsubscribe path (one-click List-Unsubscribe and a page). Opting out stops owner-message emails for that listing.

Processors
We use these processors to run the site: Supabase (database, auth, storage); Vercel (hosting); Stripe (Promote checkout); Postmark (transactional and owner-message email); Listmonk (newsletter); Google (GA4, Google sign-in, and admin-only Places lookup).
We may use Amazon SES later for newsletter delivery. It is not used for sends in the app today.
Retention
We keep account, listing, order, and message data while the account or listing is active, and as needed to run the site, prevent abuse, and meet legal duties.
Analytics first-touch cookies last about 30 days. We may anonymize or aggregate older analytics.
Access, correction, and deletion
Email hello@closterhub.com to ask what we hold, to correct it, or to request deletion.
Owners can edit listing content after sign-in. We verify requests and respond in a reasonable time.
Children
Closter Hub is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
CCPA and New Jersey residents
We do not sell personal information. Request access or deletion at hello@closterhub.com.
Changes
We may update this policy. The version and effective date appear at the top of this page. Continued use after a posted change means you accept the update.
